Job Description :
-Perform database enhancement and modification as per the requirements. Database server
objects creation and modification requests from applications team
-Design logical and physical structure of database (storage parameters)
-Work with application team for problem resolution or performance tuning efforts
-Provide assistance to associates to resolve technical issues, document and implement best
practices for the database environments
-Perform system DBA Tasks, Table Space maintenance, backup/restore, RUNSTATS /REORG,
database migrations and upgrades.
-Support production, test and QA instances of database
-Identify and recommend database techniques to support business needs
-Work with 3rd party and mainframe support staff to ensure CLIENT is on latest fix pack /
product versions
-Take lead in coordinating with applications team to ensure smooth migration to new
versions
-Perform SQL code analysis as needed
On distributed systems:
-Installation, configuration, patch and migration to latest code base
-Perform system upgrades and patch management on a quarterly basis to ensure we are on
supported product versions
-Work on and support project initiatives as directed by Infrastructure Management team
-Create and maintain support documentation
